Our EquityTech Vertical

Our EquityTech vertical empowers entrepreneurs dedicated to creating inclusive systems that close equity gaps in wealth, education, and opportunity, with a focus on EdTech and the Future of Work.

Halcyon ran our inaugural EquityTech Fellowship in 2024, supporting eight ventures through an immersive eight-week in-person residency in Washington, DC with expert training, mentorship, technical and legal support, networking events, and more. Our second iteration of the program successfully ran from September through November 2025.

In EquityTech, we focus on the realities of selling into education systems, governments, and large enterprises, as well as measuring impact on access and equity. Skill series and office hours address topics like contracting with governments, investing in public education, impact measurement for education and workforce solutions, pricing and sales strategies for institutional buyers, and channel–market fit. We prioritize partnerships with school systems, workforce agencies, impact investors, and corporate partners that can help founders navigate procurement, pilots, and scale pathways for tools that close gaps in wealth, education, and opportunity.

Sub-Sectors

  • EdTech: Leveraging technology to democratize education, improve learning and teaching outcomes, and reduce barriers to knowledge.
  • Future of Work: Creating tools and platforms that expand access to dignified work, workforce development, and economic mobility in the evolving labor market.

EquityTech Impact

Halcyon defines and evaluates ventures based on their measurable impact in EquityTech, which refers to solutions that create pathways to economic upward mobility for underserved and historically marginalized communities. These solutions are intentionally designed to close gaps in economic access, inclusion, and opportunity, helping to dismantle systemic barriers.
