Néstor Aldrete Ochoa
Néstor Aldrete is a Mexican social entrepreneur, creative technologist, and founder of OtherAI, a venture dedicated to building accessible and inclusive technologies for underserved communities. His work focuses on creating innovative digital tools—like SignaPlay, an AR-powered sign language learning app for deaf children—to promote equity in communication and education. Néstor combines his background in engineering with his passion for social justice to design solutions rooted in empathy, usability, and real-world impact. He has participated in global innovation and impact programs such as the Halcyon EquityTech Fellowship, YLAI by the U.S. Department of State, MAP by IKEA Social Entrepreneurship, and New Ventures México. Through these platforms, he has scaled OtherAI’s work and deepened its partnerships with educational institutions, disability advocacy groups, and public sector actors. A strong advocate for inclusive design, Néstor also facilitates workshops and speaks at conferences about accessibility, emerging tech, and human-centered innovation. He believes that technology should not just reach more people—it should serve them meaningfully, regardless of their abilities or context. From bootstrapping prototypes to piloting solutions in schools, Néstor is driven by a mission: making the future of technology truly accessible for all.
