Born and raised in South Africa, Watson Vuyo Matsa developed an early fascination with how financial systems shape opportunity. Trained in banking innovation and holding a double major in Accounting and Economics, he built award-winning automation and credit-processing solutions at a top bank in South Africa before transitioning into entrepreneurship.

Watson is the Co-Founder and CEO of eSusFarm Africa, a climate-smart agri-fintech platform serving smallholder farmers across multiple African countries. Under his leadership, the company integrates AI-driven advisory, soil intelligence, mobile money, and blockchain-based parametric insurance to improve productivity, financial inclusion, and climate resilience for underserved farming communities.

Recognized as a World Bank Top Innovator, Watson focuses on building scalable digital infrastructure tailored to emerging markets. His work bridges finance, agriculture, and technology to design sustainable systems that unlock economic opportunity while strengthening resilience against climate and market shocks.
