Nicola Shirley-Phillips

Nicola Shirley-Phillips is a regenerative agriculture practitioner, entrepreneur, and community economic development specialist advancing sustainable food systems in Jamaica. She is the Founder of the Ujima Naturals Farmers Market, Jamaica’s pioneering marketplace dedicated to organic, natural, and locally produced foods, created to connect conscious consumers with small farmers and producers.

Through Ujima Naturals Limited, Nicola is now leading efforts to build an island-wide distribution network in partnership with member organic and natural farmers, strengthening market access, supply chains, and food sovereignty across Jamaica. Her work also includes conservation, farmer training, and regenerative land stewardship through initiatives such as the GWG Organic Research Station and community-based agricultural programs. Nicola holds a Master’s degree in Community Economic Development and is pursuing doctoral studies in Agricultural Public Policy at Tuskegee University.
