Caleb Ndunda Kioko
Born and raised in Kenya, Caleb Kioko developed an early sensitivity to inequity, shaped by what he observed in healthcare systems, classrooms, and everyday public services. He saw how structural gaps consistently excluded the same communities, especially learners with special needs. That awareness led him to study computing, driven by a desire to understand how technology could be used to redesign complex systems rather than reinforce them.
Caleb founded Ona AI after witnessing firsthand how learners with disabilities, particularly those who are deaf, were routinely left out of learning opportunities available to their peers. Drawing from personal caregiving experiences and a strong technical foundation, he has led Ona AI through multiple stages of product development, research, and scaling. His work sits at the intersection of technology, learning design, and accessibility, with a focus on building systems that expand access rather than assume uniformity.
