José Darío Perea
José Darío Perea, PhD, is a physicist and serial science entrepreneur with (as of 2025) over 15 years of experience in renewable energy and advanced materials. He studied at Universidad del Valle (Colombia), Friedrich-Alexander Universität (Germany), and MIT, with research spanning quantum theory, organic photovoltaics, and emerging solar technologies. As a Harvard fellow in Computer Science and Chemistry and postdoctoral researcher at the University of Toronto, he led material innovation projects in collaboration with Harvard and TATA. José bridges cutting-edge science and commercialization as CTO and Co-Founder of two tech ventures: Oropesa SAS BIC and Solestructuras SAS BIC. He also serves as a NASA Cubes in Space ambassador and analog astronaut in training with AATC-ESA. His multidisciplinary background drives his mission to accelerate climate solutions through scalable science and sustainable technology deployment.
