Joan Nalubega
Joan Nalubega is a social entrepreneur, a gender equality advocate passionate about a vision for health change in vulnerable communities. In 2016, Joan founded Uganics, a social enterprise that envisions a malaria-free world through mosquito repellent soap. She believes in winning the fight against malaria in the world. Growing up in an orphanage and suffering from malaria, Joan turned her painful past into the drive to fight malaria through everyday products. She has been recognized as an Africa Business Hero by the Jack Ma Foundation, a Champion of Science by Johnson and Johnson’s Africa Innovation Challenge, as a Builder of Africa’s Future by the Africa Diaspora Network, and as the runner-up of the Anzisha Prize and Tony Elumelu in 2017.
