Bonny Dave is a socially motivated individual who left his master’s in aerospace engineering dream to pursue social entrepreneurship—and now works in the domain of assistive technology. While volunteering at the Blind People’s Association (BPA), Bonny was intrigued by the size and cost of creating Braille books. Upon realizing that Braille is a 2*3 matrix, he got some actuators from the market and built a single-celled refreshable Braille display project to play a ‘guess the Braille character’ game with the students at the BPA. By witnessing how he could use technology to empower lives, Bonny was motivated to co-found Trestle Labs. His diverse roles at Trestle Labs are now spread across design, customer relationships, operations, finance, and marketing.
