Marie Onakomaiya

Marie Onakomaiya grew up with a deep curiosity about the brain and a conviction that science should reach the people who need it most. That conviction led her to pursue a PhD in neuroscience and a Master of Public Health, and ultimately to a postdoctoral fellowship at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where she studied traumatic brain injury and behavioral health in military service members. At Walter Reed, Marie saw firsthand how structured cognitive assessment transformed clinical care for a population with access to world-class resources. She also recognized that this standard of care was almost entirely unavailable to everyone else. That gap became the founding insight behind Metric Health. With 15 years of experience in neuroscience and clinical epidemiology, Marie founded Metric Health to build the measurement infrastructure that makes longitudinal cognitive care routine, starting with brain injury and expanding across the full spectrum of cognitive health.
