Born and raised in The Bahamas, Jade Sands started her career in agriculture in 2012 while studying part-time at a local university. She grew from farm hand to Director of Hydroponics, but it was as an assistant grower that she thrived and discovered that farmers needed more freedom and breathing room to succeed.

That purpose birthed Soil Sista, an agricultural consultancy with one goal: to help smallholder farmers in Small Island Developing States get market ready and stay market ready, more efficiently and with lower barriers to entry. Through digital software and physical services, Jade is working to shift how the Caribbean grows food and reduce its dependency on imports one farm at a time.
