Alejandro Montes González

Alejandro Montes González is a Mexican architect who holds a Master’s in Sciences and Arts for Design and is currently pursuing a PhD in Conservation. Alejandro is the Founder and CEO of COAA, a climate tech company that transforms waste from the mezcal industry into high-performance building materials.

His work combines applied research and field execution, with developments validated in producer communities in Mexico and in collaboration with institutions such as ETH Zurich. Through COAA, he has created solutions that reduce emissions, eliminate the intensive use of cement, and improve seismic resilience. His approach integrates circular economy and territorial regeneration, simultaneously addressing the organic waste crisis and the lack of sustainable housing.

He is currently scaling a replicable model across regions with agro-residual industries, positioning regenerative materials as a viable alternative in the transition toward low-carbon construction.
