Jenyfer Steysi Pineda Zapana is an environmental engineer, researcher, and entrepreneur from Peru, and the Founder and CEO of Yakufil Ecoingeniería. She graduated from the National University of San Agustín of Arequipa and has extensive experience in green chemistry, wastewater innovation, and environmental regulatory compliance. Her work includes leading funded research projects, winning national innovation competitions, and presenting scientific research at international forums, strengthening the technical credibility of Yakufil’s solutions.

Through Yakufil, she leads the development of low-cost, nature-based wastewater treatment systems using vertical gardens that enable greywater reuse, reduce odors and sludge, and operate without electrical energy. The company serves small and medium-sized enterprises in water-stressed areas, helping clients reduce environmental risks and operational costs while creating green spaces. Her motivation is driven by a strong vocational commitment to addressing wastewater challenges through sustainable engineering, innovation, and impact-driven entrepreneurship.
